A system over
your systems.

Not another app.

Backbone sits on top of the email, CRM, bank, ERP and folders you already use. An engineer implements it inside your operation, with your team, in weeks. The routine shows up done every morning, with a receipt and an undo button. What matters is decided by you.

  • No migration
  • No new screen
  • No lock-in
  • Data in the EU
Your team
Decides what is final

Two minutes every morning, where you already work: email, Slack or Telegram. No new screen.

Implemented and operated by its engineerBackbone · one layer between your systems
Reads, prepares, acts with permission and leaves a receipt

Reconciles, replies, chases, updates. Overnight on its own initiative; by day on request. Everything reversible or awaiting your confirmation.

Your systems · still the source of truth
  • Microsoft 365
  • Gmail
  • Google Drive
  • Slack
  • GitHub

CRM · ERP · Bank · Folders · Telegram

Nothing migrates. Nobody changes screens. If you remove it one day, everything of yours keeps working.
Sound familiar?

The work that slows a company your size down is not inside any tool. It is between them.

Lines you hear in companies this size. On the right, what changes once Backbone operates it.

  • Invoices and the bank do not match until month end.

    With Backbone

Reconciliation every night. In the morning you only see the differences, with the explanation next to each.

  • Customers have been waiting two days for a reply.

    With Backbone

Emails triaged and answered with your templates. The delicate ones are left for a person, already prepared.

  • Deadlines and claims slip through.

    With Backbone

Files watched. Nothing expires without you knowing the day before, with the action proposed.

  • The CRM is full of duplicates and stale data.

    With Backbone

Continuous cleanup, with a copy of everything touched and instant undo.

  • What matters lives in two people’s heads.

    With Backbone

What you teach once, the company keeps. A new hire starts with it at their side.

  • We already use AI, but it only answers. It does not do.

    With Backbone

Backbone acts between your tools and leaves a receipt for every action. Asking was the beginning.

What it is, and what it is not

An operating layer over what you already have. Not one more app, not a consultancy that leaves.

New software falls into disuse because it asks people to move somewhere else. Backbone does not ask that: it works where you already work and is measured by work done, not by logins.

  • Not another app.

Nobody has to open a new screen. The work arrives done where you already look: your email, your chat, your folders. The panel is for whoever is in charge, and it fits in two minutes.

  • Not a chatbot.

It does not wait to be asked. It holds your processes, your templates and your judgement, and acts on them overnight. It answers, but above all it does.

  • Not a consultancy that leaves.

Whoever implements it stays to operate it. When models, tools or the law change, the operation is updated as part of the service, not as a new project.

It is a system over your systems: a layer that reads them, connects them and acts between them with permission, while they remain the source of truth.

How it is implemented

An engineer inside your operation. Week by week, with your team.

We do not sell licences and leave you with a manual. The implementation is done by the person who built the system, in your offices or in your Teams, with your real data. No step obliges you to the next.

  1. Weeks 1–2

    Diagnosis inside the operation

I sit with the people who do the work. A map of where time, context and money are lost; what is reversible and what is not; a read-only, mirror-mode demo with your data. Fixed price and a written plan.

If you stop here, the plan is yours. How the diagnosis works
  2. Weeks 3–6

    First operated process

One process end to end, built with your team on your tools: reconciliation and invoicing, the inbox, claims or customer lifecycle. Receipts, undo and approvals from day one. Training in the real flow, not in a course.

You leave with a process that runs on its own.
  3. Afterwards

    Continuous operation

Monthly and without lock-in. A reference engineer, a monthly review of what works and what fails, new processes when you ask for them. When models, tools or the law change, it is updated as part of the service.

Leave whenever you want; everything of yours keeps working.
Who implements it
Alberto Angulo Pinedo
Founder and implementing engineer · The Backbone Tech · Madrid

Applied-AI engineer and founder of The Backbone Tech, in Madrid. From 2021 to 2024, fraud detection and credit scoring at a consumer-finance fintech, from Data Scientist to Head of Data; in 2024, at Accenture, governance, risk and compliance delivery and GenAI and NLP enablement. Since then, a system with durable execution and per-company isolation enforced in the database, and AI workflows for finance companies and online platforms.

I implement Backbone myself, in your company, with your tools. No intermediaries and no endless project: two weeks to understand, a few more to operate.

“We did not restrict the AI to make it safe. We made the system safe so we would never have to.”

Recent work

  • Pre-litigation claims management for a financial institution: files, deadlines and communications operated with human review on anything final.
  • Customer retention and attribution for an online platform: data, cohorts and campaigns, with a record of what is live and what is not.

Cases described by sector and function, without client names.

What working with Backbone includes

Not another tool. Someone who makes sure everything you already have works together.

Backbone is the system and the service. The thesis is not connecting tools: it is that your company stops losing context between email, folders, chat and two people’s heads, and turns it into work done. This is what you get every month.

  • A diagnosis of what fails in daily work

We do not start with technology. We start where time, context and money are lost between email, folders, chat and two people’s memory. With your processes and your numbers, not a questionnaire.

  • Your tools, squeezed

Most companies use a fraction of what they pay for. We configure what you already have under contract in depth, including your AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini), and point out what is surplus before anyone sells you something new.

  • Glue between applications

The work that today moves from one screen to another by hand moves on its own: email, CRM, bank, ERP, folders, Slack or Telegram. Nothing migrates. Your tools remain the source of truth.

  • Tidy data that does not leave with people

Customers without duplicates, files up to date, and what one person knows turned into company memory: reviewable, correctable, with a date and a source on every fact.

  • Security and compliance built in

Per-company isolation in the database, a receipt for every action, and the documentation the EU AI Act and GDPR ask for, prepared as part of the service. The essentials, without overload.

  • Training in the real workflow

Your team learns to ask well, to review in two minutes and to use its AI tools with judgement. No generic courses and no jargon: the technical side is explained from scratch when needed, assuming nothing.

  • We move with you

Every month we review what works, what fails and which process is next. When a better model ships, you get it without a new project. Backbone is built not to expire with the next release.

  • No lock-in and no hostages

Everything configured in your tools stays with you. The folders, the memory and the judgement are yours; the AI is replaceable. If one day you remove it, everything keeps working. That is why you can start small.

Every morning

This is what every morning looks like. Try it.

The two-minute briefing, with undo next to everything reversible and one confirmation for anything final. Below, pick a time of day to see what happens at each moment.

Try pressing Undo or Approve. This is every morning.

5 actions · 3 reversible · 2 await your OK

The two-minute briefing

What it did overnight, on what, and with what result. Undo next to everything reversible. Two things await your confirmation because they are final: sending a proposal and paying a supplier.

Things you ask it every week
  • “Catch me up”
  • “Week close: follow-ups, dormant clients, money outstanding”
  • “Walk the folders and tell me what changed”
  • “Prepare the reply to this client in our tone”
  • “Turn this conversation into tasks”
  • “Explain this to me from scratch”
  • “Let’s connect this tool”
What if it gets it wrong?

It will, sometimes. That is why everything it does can be undone, or waits for your confirmation.

Almost every AI tool asks you to trust it. Backbone is built so you do not have to: safety does not depend on the AI behaving, it depends on how the system beneath it is made.

01

Undo instantly

Everything reversible has its button. Before touching anything, the previous copy is saved.

02

Anything final waits for your OK

Sending, paying, deleting outside: a single confirmation, with the context in front of you.

03

A receipt for every action

Every action is noted: who, what, when and on what. It serves the auditor, and it lets you sleep.

The large companies surveyed by IBM record on average 54 AI-agent incidents a year that need human correction, and 25 % fewer when control sits in the system rather than in manual oversight. IBM, June 2026

For your technical lead or your auditor: how it is designed underneath

The AI works freely on top of a floor designed so that no text can change it: the database, identity, bounded paths to the outside world and a record of every action. A more capable model changes everything about the value and nothing about the safety.

Section: the free AI on top, the channels, the exit door and the safe system beneathThe AI, freeREADS · DRAFTS · TRIES · ACTS ON THE REVERSIBLECHANNELS · EVERY ACTION LEAVES A RECEIPTInto your dataInto the worldUndoThe exit doorATTRIBUTED · BOUNDED · WITH A RECEIPTTHE SYSTEM · WHERE A PROMPT CANNOT REACHPer-company isolation in the databaseA record of every action: who, what and whenPermissions bounded per source and per actionAnything final waits for a confirmation
That is the design: safety in the system, not in the AI’s instructions. That is why a better model makes it more useful, not more dangerous.

Eight design principles, in plain language

  1. Safety is built into the system, not into the instructions. No text should be able to rewrite it.
  2. Every company is isolated in the database. If something fails, it fails closed.
  3. The AI proposes; the system applies. It is designed so your company’s data is written through a controlled path, never straight from a model’s text.
  4. One record per company that only grows. It is designed so nothing is deleted without a trace.
  5. No consequential action without explicit permission. Delegation is meant to narrow permissions, never to widen them.
  6. Whoever proposes should not approve. The design separates proposing from authorising, for people and for the AI.
  7. Passwords and keys should never pass through the AI. It is designed to work with references, so it cannot leak what it does not see.
  8. Seeing is not authorising. An email or a web page can inform; never command.
What we do not promise

For trust to be real, these are the things you will not hear from us

Every promise on this site is tied to a mechanism that can be shown. What cannot be shown is not promised.

  • We do not say

That it never gets it wrong.

    We say

It will, sometimes. That is why everything is reversible or waits for your confirmation, and stays on record.

  • We do not say

That it does everything on day one.

    We say

It starts with one process and earns the next with evidence. Anything final waits for your OK until you decide to let go.

  • We do not say

    That it replaces your team.

    We say

It multiplies what the team you already have produces, and keeps what it knows.

  • We do not say

A price without seeing your operation.

    We say

The diagnosis has a fixed price. Operation is quoted with your processes in front of us, and the diagnosis is deducted.

  • We do not say

That it acts where it has no permission.

    We say

Every source has an owner, a permission and a limit. No permission, no action; no action, no surprise.

  • We do not say

    That it is magic.

    We say

Every routine produces a receipt and an update you can read. If it cannot be read, it is not done.

Who it is for

Designed for companies without a technology department

These are the concrete conditions we work with. If your company matches three of them, it deserves a conversation.

Size

30 to 300 people. Enough work between tools for it to hurt; too few hands to do it well by hand.

Technical team

Not needed. I implement it with your tools, and your team learns in the real workflow, not in a course.

Tools

The ones you already pay for. Nothing migrates: Backbone reads and acts through them, and they remain the source of truth.

Data and law

In the European Union, in a database isolated per company. GDPR and the EU AI Act considered from the design; the documentation is prepared as part of the service.

Time and price

A two-week diagnosis at a fixed price. First process operated in four to six weeks. Monthly operation with no lock-in.

Exit

Leave whenever you want and everything of yours keeps working. Coming in breaks nothing; leaving breaks nothing.

Also for one person

An executive or founder with their inbox, files and projects operated from Telegram or Slack. The small version is the same one with fewer settings.

Where it fits

Four kinds of company, the same pattern

Finance and claims

What weighs

Hundreds of files with deadlines, documents and communications lost between email and spreadsheets.

What Backbone operates

Deadline watching, communications drafted with your templates, file updates, escalation of the delicate cases to a person.

What you see in the morning

The files expiring this week, with the action prepared and one confirmation per send.

E-commerce and operations

What weighs

Orders, incidents and returns spread across the shop, the CRM, email and the carrier.

What Backbone operates

Incident triage and replies, reconciliation of payments and refunds, duplicate-customer cleanup, customer notices.

What you see in the morning

The incidents resolved, the ones waiting for a person, and the refunds that need your OK.

Law firms, accountancies and consultancies

What weighs

Every client is an inbox, a folder and a deadline; the know-how lives in two partners’ heads.

What Backbone operates

Document collection, client reminders, package preparation for each deadline, memory of how each thing is done.

What you see in the morning

Which clients sent what was missing, which packages are ready to review and what gets requested today.

Industry and logistics

What weighs

Delivery notes, supplier invoices and orders crossing between the ERP, the bank and email, and nobody reconciles until month end.

What Backbone operates

Daily reconciliation of invoices against delivery notes and the bank, order follow-up, detection of price and quantity differences.

What you see in the morning

Only the differences, explained, and the invoices ready to pay with one confirmation.

Compliance without extra work

What the law asks for now, and what it will ask for in 2027, is prepared as part of the service

EU AI Act

Since 2 August 2026, people must be told when they interact with an AI and generated content must be marked; we build both into every process we operate. The high-risk obligations (automatic logging, traceability, attributed human oversight) arrive on 2 December 2027 for the uses the law classifies that way; the receipt for every action is designed to produce that evidence.

Your data

In the European Union, in a database isolated per company. We do not use your data to train models. Memory, configuration and what it has learned are yours and leave with you if you go.

Security

Per-company isolation in the database, a receipt for every action, undo on anything reversible and a confirmation on anything final.

Questions

What people usually ask before the first call

Is it a chatbot?

No. A chatbot answers. Backbone does: it reconciles, replies to email, updates the CRM, prepares payments and claims, and leaves a receipt for every action.

Does it replace my team?

No. It keeps the repetitive work and leaves people what captures margin and relationships. The same people produce more, and know more, because what they teach is kept.

Do I have to migrate anything?

No. Your tools remain the truth. Backbone connects, reads, proposes and acts through them.

Which tools does it connect?

Today: email on Microsoft 365 and Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, GitHub and Telegram. The CRM, the ERP, accounting, the bank and shared folders connect through their APIs; if a tool has an API, it can be connected.

Where is my data?

In the European Union, in a database isolated for your company. The AI model providers in use are agreed with you, and we do not use your data to train models.

What if we remove it?

Everything you had keeps working. Coming in breaks nothing; leaving breaks nothing. That is why you can say yes.

How much does it cost?

The diagnosis has a fixed price and is deducted if we continue. Operation is paid monthly per operated work, with no lock-in.

Can it make mistakes?

Yes. That is why everything it does is either reversible or waits for your confirmation, and stays noted in a record that only grows.

Start with the diagnosis

Two weeks. A real map of your operation, the three processes that pay back most and a demo with your data. If we stop there, you keep the plan.
